I've been trying to figure out the theory behind the lick @ 53 seconds for awhile. I figured I wouldn't ask about one of Brett's actual recordings because it's a bit too much for me to figure out at the moment.

I can tell when it goes out of the scale, but I can't tell how or what's really happening.

Any help would be appreciated with that line or the theory.
