...of people saying 'Voodoo Chile' when they are infact refering to 'Voodoo Child (Slight Return)'? Or am I just pedantic about this sort of thing? _________________ http://jimihendrix.suddenlaunch.com |

I still wonder what the heck people are talking about when they say that...can you fill me in?
I also don't know what pedantic means, but neither does Peter Griffin |

Well they're two different songs. You obviously dont have Electric Ladyland, and I feel sorry for you. _________________ http://jimihendrix.suddenlaunch.com |

Whoppie, maybe the people aren't making a mistake because on Electric Ladyland there's one version called Voodoo Child and the other called Voodoo Chile. So no need to specify «Slight Return». Please, salute for me to your 2 little jerks called Purple Gay and Third Cock. |

Well they ARE. The fact that they're two seperate songs is the reason they have different names. It's often on Rock compilations, and often in magazines, that the title Voodoo Chile is used when in fact the song present is not. _________________ http://jimihendrix.suddenlaunch.com |

One thing that might account for the confusion:
I bought a copy of EL when it was first released in Australia. On the front cover the track listing distinguishes between Voodoo "Chile" and Voodoo "Child".
However, the track listing on the inside cover lists them both as "Child".
I'm not sure if this "mistake" was repeated on subsequent vinyl re-issues and CD releases. |
