So, who's up for some "Bluesy" discussion?
Here's a Tune I love to play:
"Desdemona", by The Allman Brothes Band. Great Changes, and I LOVE the way the ABB builds and flows through this Tune. I'm supposed to be in a new band, starting in about 2 Weeks. And, I really want the band to do this Tune.
Anyway, what would you play over this Tune?
Here's the Changes, as I have been playing them:
INTRO CHORDS: l AbM7 Fm l Cm G ll
VERSE CHORDS: l Cm CmM7 l Cm7 Cm6 l AbM7 Fm l
Cm G l Cm CmM7 l Cm7 Cm6 l AbM7 Db l G l
AbM7 Fm l G Cm l AbM7 Db l G ll
CHORUS CHORDS: l C C/Bb l Am7 Am7/G l F F#dim. l G ll
SOLO/BRIDGE CHORDS: l Cm Gm ll (Vamp)
CLIMAX/TRANSITION: l AbM7 Fm l G ll
So, you can see that there are a LOT of cool possibilities. Anyone game?

Well, maybe another "Blues" Topic then?
Anybody ever mess with these Ideas?:
Code:

E minor Pentatonic, with added Major 3rd.
NOTE: Usually, you always go from the Minor 3rd. TO the Major 3rd.
Even when descending.
This move really helps nail-down the sound of a Dominant chord.

Classic "Blue 3rd." Train-Whistle lick, in E. Bend the G note slowly,
and 1/3 to 1/2 way to the G# note.
The "Blue 3rd." is a very vocal-sounding note. Try it, it's addictive!
