I gotta say many Panic fans were surprised by this announcement.
They have been curious and confused this past week.
Please keep in mind that most folks don't handle change very well.
So if you are hit with criticism, let is slide and know that eventually the WP community will accept you fully....as long as you don't screw up the opening to Surprise Valley! hehe Smile

I for one cant believe he is in Panic. I never thought he would join the band personally, but cant be happier to be wrong. I am so damn excited for fall I could care less about the 3 shows in chicago in two weeks. Welcome to the family!!!

Jay- Question for you since you seem to be in touch with him or people around him. I cant imagine this just came up out of the blue. I would imagine this has been in the works for some time now. You say he is very happy to be in the band, which is great!!! But is this a long term thing? Or just for fall? I take it he isnt going into fall tour with a months worth of preperation (if that seeing as he is starting his tour tomorrow)? How familiar is he with Panics music?

They're aren't many people in this world that can step on stage with Widepsread Panic and demand instant attention and respect......you Sir can and will. I think we are about to see this group go down many roads untraveled.....and it is going to ROCK!

Rumors are true- the sun was yellow and the sky was blue. Stunning!
“Compared to What” now in constant rotation.
Definitely a topsy-turvy world for Panic this year, but they’re probably reveling in the experimentation of it all and it’s just fans with the crinkly underpants. Any rate- most excited for the fall. I hope this is going to represent a new direction with some continuity. Looking forward not only to your interpretation of Panic’s songs, but also introducing some chestnuts from your career and collaborating on some new tunes.
Advice- once you start on Fall Tour go back to not using computers. People can get overly critical when behind an anonymous login. Heard much less critism of Mr McConnell out in the lot. It’s going to be a tough job, but just keep those sea legs and reel them in.
