Gordon Wilson went there a few days early and bolted a pole in the
rafters 25' from the stage, right in the sweet spot, and ran cables
(through the rafters) back to the sbd area. Others ran rigs back by the
board, but I can't imagine that any of them can touch Gordon's tapes. Hell,
he could have run CSB's > whopper a/d > md and still smoked everyone
else from his spot... I patched from him, listened to it this morning,
and it sounds killer. "

source: AKG 480/ck61 (about 95 degrees & 20cm) > V3 > DAP1
location: fob dfc, mics hung from the ceiling in the sweet spot
transfer: dap1 > audiophile 24/96 > wavelab 4.0 > soundforge 6.0 > cdwave > flac (level 8 )

disc one:
1. Intro/tuning
2. Fixin' To Die
3. Time Flack
4. Jazz Bank
5. Compared To What
6. Planet Earth
7. Yield Not To Temptation
8. Too Many Guitars

9. Space Is The Place
10. Cheese Frog
11. 15 Years/Another Man Done Gone

* Otiel on timbales

Notes:
- 48k > 44.1k done with WaveLab 4.0
- fades added at beginning and end of disc with WaveLab 4.0
- after transferring I listened to the whole show and noticed a few pops in the right channel
and verified that they were on the dat master.
- soundforge 6.0 was used to fix the pops.
- reason for wavelab > soundforge is b/c I know how to fix pops with sf and don't with wl
- rick says there were a few pops from the PA as well
- Sector Boundaries verified with shntool v2.0.3
- thanks to Kelly, Joe W, and Boswell for helping me set up the mics
- and a big thanks goes to Dave and Joe at Stella Blue for helping me run the cables etc to set up the ceiling rig

This is great! Thanks for the alert. I just searched bt.etree.org a few minutes ago, but I searched for "herring" which is not in the notes.

About the Flac, do you mean you can download but have no way of converting it to wav or play on computer? If so, it's easy to get setup to convert flacs--just like shns.

Either way,we'll get you a copy somehow.

I WAS THERE MAN! We drove to Aheville all the way down from michigan...11 1/2 hr drive! Camped in the mountains, went to the show...3 feet in front of Herring all night, front row. My buddy is a friend of Oteil's and we called his cell from line at the door and met up with him when we got in. Show ROCKED! My favorite attended show EVER! Got the whole band to autograph my out of print ARU w/Col. cd from the early 90s, and then met Jimmy outside in front of the place. We talked for about 10 minutes about Holdsworth and Coltrane and shared something good with him Wink He said he could study Coltrane for the rest of his life and never even come close! He is such a humble and cool guy. He is definitely one of the nicest people I have ever met. It was worth the total of 23 hours on the road! Can't wait for the download to finish so I can relive the experience! THEY'RE BACK!!!!!!!!!

hey now!!

for FLAC to work, you must use the "decode" feature, and it will ask you from what folder to pull the files from, and you just select the folder you downloaded the bittorerent files to, and select all the flac files.

It will automaticlly open another window and start decoding to wav files. When that is done, hit any key and you're ready to burn or listen!

Hello All,

Just found this news about the 10/19 show! I am wondering if anyone can reseed it or it there is a link I am missing.

Great news ARU is back. First walked into them in Telluride in 92. Awesome.

Thanks for any help in advance. Very Happy
