I've got a standard in the ginger finish coming in. I'll keep you posted. Most I've come across have been the custom. In researching and talking to Troy @ Wildwood the info I received has been the mahogany top gives it a warmer sound. Maybe a tad more suited to the rock side of tone which I really wanted. Johnny A basically stated the same thing on the Gibson you tube forum's that are posted. I've heard some clips of the standard and really like it, plus I like the more reserved (less bling) and of course the cost is just a bit more practical for me.... Reviews later and I can hardly wait till this guitar gets here!

Hello to all . I am interested in the Johnny A and have admired his Style and his guitar. It does look like a slim hollow body and he says in his web site it is only about 1 1/2 inches deep? Sounds kinda shallow to be a hollow body. Is it really that deep?
Anyways I am really thinking of getting one but no one around here has one so I can see and feel what it is like. anyone help out a wanna be owner? Thanks to all and I am a Big Star Trek Fan from day one . Thanks All

Yes, that's the "working" title of a my newest book project.

I'm writer and photographer Chris A. (no relation to JA) but I am working with Johnny A. to produce a very high quality book on the history and development of the Gibson Custom Shop Johnny A. Signature Model guitar and I would like YOUR help on this project. If you own a JA guitar I'd really like to hear from you. Please drop me a line at

I'm seeking high-quality photographs, information and stories about you and your guitar! Every JA is a beautiful guitar so I'd like to hear from you about your passion for this modern classic.

In addition to obtaining information and photos of JA guitars I'm also very interested in what YOU would like to see within the pages of this book? Do you have questions for Johnny A. about "why" something is the way it is on the guitar? Let me know. I may use your question.

My objective is to write the most definitive volume about this guitar that is possible. I want to fill it with historically accurate, detailed information supported by great images of these beautiful instruments. I know many of you are very serious players, collectors, dealers and enthusiasts. Consequently your input will be valued.

If you have owned or currently own a JA please drop me a line! If you're a retail music store and you sell the JA, I'd love to hear from you. The OKKO Diablo is a great sounding pedal that is super versatile. It can get much more aggressive than it is in that clip.

hi every one,

I would like to know if some of you guys had try gibson JA with bb preamp xotic...

I'm balanced between these 2 pedals so as to put my sound bigger, I use a clean fender tone with a klon and I need something which can large my tone..

I really like the tone he got with okko : http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=OS3bb2KPeOk but I don't know realy good this pedal if it can be crank up what she will give??

So thanx by advance for giving me your choice...
