Hello

What is the difference between the Standard vs Custom in tone ?

Does the maple top make much difference ?

Does the rosewood board make much difference when compared to the ebony ?

What are the peoples opinions about these points ?

In the print edition, the article covered a whole page.

The night at Gilrein's was mixed. Big, noisy Friday night crowd.... I think JA played a very short, loud set. There seemed to be some kind of party in the middle of the room.

On the other hand, he has a new drummer--Ron Stewart, who played on the second album.

Yeah, I still check in once in a while. I just figured that everyone now goes to the Myspace instead. I haven't gotten into Myspace yet...don't know if I will either! I went to one of the shows at Firefly's in Marlboro (Sat nite) and I noticed that the crowd was definitely more into watching the show than previous shows there. They actually turned their chairs around and watched the show rather than sit in groups and chit chat. Standing O at the end that nite! Billy did a great set also, crowd loved it! Also, Carter Alan was in attendance from WZLX radio "Sunday Morning Blues" show. It was a great nite! Thanks for checkin' in!

I'm kind of surprised to see Johnny scheduled to appear at Gilrein's in Worcester, Mass. It's a small club. But, that works in favor of those of who can attend.

The owner commented that Johnny likes a quiet crowd. I told him that JA prefers people who attend for the music, rather than the party. At least, that's my impression.

Again, Seattle is graced with John, Chris and Jesse tearing it up and layin it down. What a great show! Jesse had tried to defy the laws of physics earlier in the day by attempting to walk thru a plexi door, leaving his cranial imprint on it and a rather large bump on his head...ouch. Chris was the master of time as usual and John was "hacking" quite masterfully. Yeah, John...you're "just a hacker". The night was filled with snippets/new surprises including tastes of Mahavishnu and King Crimson. Encore tunes included a beautiful rendition of "Walk Away Renee" and "Oh Yeah".

Note to John...you shoulda taken Evelyn up on the massage. Next time? Can I have a Db9#11 please?

This one's a few days late, but nevertheless.....it was another great show! Every show is better than the last one, no word of a lie!

Billy Claire was opening for JA, with his beautiful Gibson acoustic electric, and did songs by Oasis, Neil Young, Greenday, Beatles, Stones and a surprise acoustic SRV, which was really amazing to hear from an acoustic guitar. Great job by Billy!

Then JA, Chris and Jesse came onto the stage and played a really incredible show! He did some Hendrix, Beatles, Led Zep, Deep Purple songs from both of his cd's and I think the version of Get Inside and Krea Gata were the best that I've heard yet. The last number of shows that I have been to he has played somewhat longer and more elaborate versions of these songs each time....really great guitar work. I believe he played the black JA sig the whole nite (at least that's what I could see from where I was sitting, which was off to his right) The lights were way down low but the stage lighting was really great and the room was packed full of people. JA also had some friends and family there, namely his Dad. At one point in between songs, JA asked the wait staff if some drinks could be brought up to the stage, and also informed that his Dad would leave the tip, because after all, he did get him in for nothing!

After the show, the people that I was with were so impressed with the show that they had just seen, they had to sit at the table for a few minutes to take it all in, then they went up to meet JA afterwards.

He will be on the road soon to a city near you, and if I were you I would get myself to a show that you will not forget!

After all of the hullaballoo about a live album, I thought we'd have seen it by now. I'm really looking forward to hearing it - I like his live music, almost more than the studio versions.

Any idea when it's supposed to be released?
