A new Johnny A. "Standard" may become available soon. It was just displayed at Winter NAMM (Jan. 2007). gibson has not released the specs as of today, so we don't know much about it. I was told the color on the prototype is called "Ginger". It looks like a plaintop with nickle hardware and less fancy inlays. I am hoping it will be about in the 335 price range when it comes out.

The new JA is great news.
I hope that it will be available as a CS guitar and not USA.
If so they will be the same guitars with cheaper hardware, rosewood neck
(no ebony), no fancy binding etc.....
Hope that the hardware will be nickel and not chrome.Love the nickel look and feel in fact I prefer nickel over gold gardware.
I am sure the new Johnny A will be a killer fiddle.
Awaiting more info and news on availability of this instrument.
Thank you Gibson !!!
