In my cd player at the moment I have 'The Shore" but before that I had of course JA (both cd's), then some Brian Hughes, Jeff Golub's new cd (really likin' that one!) that cd with Larry Carlton and Steve Lukather (their version of Jeff Beck's The Pump is awesome!). Also some Shelby Lynne, Bjork's greatest hits (yep...that's right!) Keith Urban (country rockish) Robben Ford, Brian Culbertson (a cd called After Hours, although I have all of his cd's.....awesome!) Chris Botti, Sting, Robin Trower's Bridge of Sighs, George Benson's Breezin' (a classic!) Jeff Beck's There and Back (I absolutely love that tune The Final Peace...amazing!), and the list goes on....and on....and on!!!
Gotta love these warm summer nites! _________________ It is what it is |

(((Hi Twin Flame))) - I'll have to check out what you are listening to.
As for me, JA of course, Stevie Ray Vaughan most of the time,
Lyle Lovett (no lie!), Black Crowes, Allman Bros., CSNY, and every summer I get into the Woodstock mood - in the car so no one hears me singing
Satellite radio (xm) at home and on line -
Live 8 on Saturday!
My teen girls listen to their hip hop/rap, teeny bop-top 20, and really heavy headbanging stuff...secretly I don't mind -
The guys (and 1 gal) in the shop at work play some cool funky fusion something - I have to ask what it is because everytime I go in there its so great.
good thread... |

New Van Zant "Get Right With the Man." These brothers can deliver some nice riffs, although sounds like Donnie would rather be fishin' (one of his favorite hobbies.)... |

This dude has written for many country artists. Now he's got a hit of his own! Saw it performed live. Think he knows. Love the song, relate.
Bobby Pinson
"Don't Ask Me How I Know"
Verse 1
Don’t ride your bike off a ramp that’s more than three bricks high
Don’t take that candy from the store if you ain’t got the dime
Don’t pick a fight with a little guy that doesn’t talk that much
Don’t pick up a cherrybomb thinkin’ it’s a dud
And don’t sneak out of a 2 story house usin’ bed sheets as a rope
Don’t ask me how I know
Chorus
Sell your truck while it’s still runnin’, save the Jesus off the dash
Say a prayer when you feel like cussin’, save your money pay with cash
Forget your pride, buy the roses, if you’re sorry tell her so
Don’t drink the water in Mexico
Don’t ask me how I know
Verse 2
Don’t quit your high school football team halfway through the season
Don’t bust your buddy in the nose when you know he didn’t mean it
Don’t lose a girl you love at home for a night in Panama City
Don’t rush off the phone when your Mama calls you ain’t that busy
Ya oughta make that drive to say goodbye to your grampa ‘fore he goes
Don’t ask me how I know
Chorus
Forget your pride buy the roses, if you love her tell her so,
Don’t go to Vegas with your heart broke,
Don’t bum your cousin for that first smoke
I'm tellin' ya, don't drink the water in Mexico
Don't ask me how I know
Don't ask me how I know
I just know
sell your truck while it's still runnin', say a prayer when you feel like cussin'
I know |

Hi jacksonn!
Read your post earlier today and remembered who you said wrote the lyrics. Was just watching some vh1 country videos on the telly and guess what video they showed? Yep...Bobby Pinson and it was for the song you had mentioned! Whatta ya know! Pretty good stuff!
Back in 2002 I went to see Keith Urban three times here in MA...I have a friend that was into country music and we went to see Alan Jackson along with Martina McBride, Keith Urban, Cyndi Thompson. It was my first country music experience (I had no idea who any of them were) and was really impressed! My Dad used to play some Hank Williams on his guitar when I was very young...my first taste of country!
Take care! _________________ It is what it is |
