Hey guys can you fill me in on the history of the Standard model and the thinking behind it other than maybe it is or was at a lower price entry point?

I familar with specs for the guitar. I read that they were only produced in 2007 and only 300 models were to be made worldwide. I assume you can still do a custom order since a saw someone with the date of 2009 for his. Also, can anybody tell me if there any grouping of years of production based on the sequential number of the guitars made ?

I have Standard Model lined up to buy within the next week or so and will have to drive 12 hours, 6 hours each way to pick her up. This guitar appeals to me for the tonal woods, 25.5 inch scale, and double cut away. The only issue I'm concerned about it the neck profile. I prefer a slimmer profile such as the Modern C shape for the Fender Stratocaster.

Thanks guys !

Hey guys,

From what I could find it appears that the Johnny A Standard was priced about $3,300 which is about $1000 less than the current price of the original model.

If you like the Fender C shape you WILL like the Johnny A imho. I like that Fender neck also and was pleasantly surprised, I like the Johnny neck better. Make the drive, you won't be disappointed!

I finally got my new gutiar, new to me that is, listed at the below address for this website. The neck is a dream !! Perhaps a tad fatter than a modern C but outstanding for me.
