Some questions for Johnny:

Inside your latest cd, the picture of you on stage in a empty theater, is that the Regent Theatre in Arlington, MA?

I saw you at the Regent in June co-headlining with Robben Ford- both kick ass shows! Do you see yourself going back there anytime soon? I noticed on your schedule from your website that you're back at Capo's on Lowell in October. I've never been inside Capo's, but why there as opposed to the Regent? From the outside, Capo's seems like a small place...

By the way, your latest cd is extremely well done, and the drummer and bass player sound great. But, I really liked the 2 guys you had with you at the Regent. Are they still touring with you?

Is there a live cd in the works? You really should consider one (double disc)...

I'll be seeing you in a couple of weeks- at the White Mountain Boogie 'n Blues Festival, and in Asbury Park at The Guitarbeque.

Later,
~JohnnyZ~

Some of these, I can answer. Yes, that's the Regent in the pictures for the CD, taken by Paul Lyden.

Chris (drums) and Jesse (bass) were at the Regent show with Robben Ford and are very busy as John's rhythm section for all of his shows.

Capo's is a good club- filling two shows at the Regent is a steep task...

To satisfy your live jones, you should keep checking the News section of the JohnnyA.com website. There was a recent broadcast on World Cafe and xm satelite radio had a live show that was unbelievable. That show would make a great live CD- I suggested to John that he ought to offer several live tracks as bonus tracks on upcoming singles.... I'd recommend getting as many people who would be interested in that to start requesting it...

Thanks for the replies, Billy.

I like your recommendation to get requests for live material. If singles, I'll take one of each!

What are the chords to Get Inside (the opening chords all the way to the first line of riffs). Thanx, I just can't get enough of this track. Come to New Mexico soon.
Thanx

I recently got an e-mail from JA which reports that the official tab book for "Get Inside" will be out very soon!!! You'll have the chords and licks to everything on the record....I hope you're a better player than I am and can actually replicate his licks! Smile

Here are some questions for JA:

Will you ever sing on a CD or during a show?

What are the most interesting places you have played? or your favorites?

Thanks,
elle

John used to sing all the time in his previous bands- you can even see him harmonizing with Steve Tyler in one of the pictures on the website but don't expect to hear "Johnny A. Sings" as the title of the next CD. John had a cold a few years ago and got larygnitis and his singing voice never came back the way it was before. The real answer of course is "John sings with his guitar!"

As far as interesting places, I'll have to wait for John to give me an answer to that one- could even be "all of them."

Who wouldn't? I'll ask Johnny if anythings in the works- if enough people are interested, that's what makes a label notice. I don't know as how much has been videoed though- there was talk of a DVD coming out from the Clapton Crossroads Festival but I don't know who would be on it- hopefully John would make the cut!

BTW the Get Inside book is out... it would also be cool if John put out an instructional video... hint hint.

I have a question!

Just wondering if JA ever does "Wichita Lineman" at his shows?

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply!

I guess there's hope for me yet! Although I do really love his original compositions!

He is the best!
