I would say V30's in a closed back 4x12.
G12-65's in an oval open back 2x12.
And he likes the Tone Spotters in the Fender Deville.

As you can assume I'm a guitar player and a big fan of Mike's Music and Tone.

Scott Henderson, Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix, Robben Ford, SRV and many Jazz musicians are in my good musicians list ...

I also have some good knowledge in Tube valve amps and other electronic stuff ...

Hi,

I read on Mike's web site that he also likes Eminence Tonespotter speakers ... I like them too, they sound thik and smooth with an amazing presence and great low end !

Funny that he used a Boss CS-3, thats one of the most critisized compressors ever and he have a dbx 160a in the rack

Just found a couple of cool live recordings of Mike playing with Vonda Shepard at the Baked Potato in 1992. The sound quality isn't great, but these are the only recordings I've ever found of Mike playing live with Vonda. One is a cover of "The Wind Cries Mary." The same guy has some other cool Landau recordings on his YouTube channel (Red Blues at the Spud from '92, etc.). Enjoy!

Mike used the Fulltone OCD in 2008, but not in 2009. On the summer 2008 tour, he also used his '69 Strat, and the Suhr Badger 18 into a blonde Fender Bassman 2x12 cab. Anyone know what amps both Dustin and Landau were using for this gig? I'm thinking Landau is using the Od100, but I'm not for sure.

You never hear talk about this at all. This is some of my favorite music featuring Landau. I have tried to find the show, but can't seem to find anyone that has it. I love the song writing and the overall feel of the music. The stuff that Landau adds just sits so well within the structure of the tunes.

I find the sd9 really dark sounding and we all know that the tone knob is not usable above 9 o'clock. The overall headroom I can get with it is pretty small if compared to the cot which has a lot more "hair" so to my ears the solo does not come out as well as with the cot...

But this could be referred to my setup. I have dark sounding pickups (kinman woodstock plus) and prefer bass centered tones for my guitar...
