@Resha: Volume dimed to match the COT, cause that thing is LOUD as most of you must have noticed. Tone all the off and gain around 10 o'clock. So pretty much like Landau sets it. I use my volume knob a lot as vel as a post gain volumepedal. |
And your COT's all the way up?
Last night during rehearsals I've tweaked something and noticed the SD-9 works better with less gain, about 10 o'clock as you said. That creates less overtones hence less chaos |

Yep, my COT is all the way up, It's still dynamic at full blast so I can go from clean to mean that way |

Does any of you experience the SD-9 leaking a little bit of distortion into the clean tone when it is off? Mine does that and it's quite annoying. I have a Maxon.
thanks |

Not really, but I have the Analogman mod'd one. I don't know if that does anything to keep it from bleeding through. |

The only known issue is that the older Ibanez SD-9 can make some oscillating noise when the gain is way up, but the newer Ibanez SD-9 and all of the Maxon SD-9 are said to not have that issue due to different pcb layout. I have a stock Maxon SD-9 and there is no leakage what so ever. And I am floored how good it sounds with my new amp (SLO100-clone with Marshall powersection) whereas it was never my "go to" pedal with all my other amps... but with this one it's "instant Landau-tone"
maybe yours is faulty after all? _________________ where there is music, there is hope |
