I have a trade offer for my Custom Vibrolux Reverb (I'm looking for a head). It's a Winfield amp called..."The Winfield" and I'm trying to get some thoughts from some like-minded folk.

I am hesitant as I cannot really put it through the paces before the trade. I get the vibe that it's a Plexi/AC30 hybrid. I was thinking about a Suhr Badger, and thought this might make it happen, but...concerned it'll be too Voxy for me.
I'm really holding out for a Ceriatone OTS Mini, which is my primary need. The Suhr would be a nice tone to add, but mostly I'm looking for the working man's Dumble.

I've got the Ceriatone OTS FM100. I've been following the Mini as well. I'm not sure what your needs are, but I get GREAT tone out of my FM100 at pretty reasonable volume levels, which for me makes the Mini seem pointless (although, had it existed before I got my FM100, I might have gone with it). YMMV, of course. I have a c-lator (Dumblator) in the loop, which makes a huge difference and is key for the TTYD tone.

If you really want the Dumble tone, I'd definitely hold out for a Ceriatone OTS of one flavor or other.

I appreciate your thoughts. I think100 watts is waaay more than I need. I'm also looking to keep it light if I can. Right now use a DRRI, a Custom Vibrolux Reverb, and a modded Yamaha t50c. Sometimes I'm through a HRDLX OR a Blues Jr.. I will say that, with Sonic Fusion pedal... any of these will do a decent job,.but...I'm jonsing for a Dumble.

So...I traded a Custom Vibrolux Reverb...for the "The Winfield" 18/30w head. I did not get it for a Dumble thing...I got Ceriatone OTS Lunchbox for that.
This amp is crazy nice! The closest thing I can compare it to is a Suhr Badger...which is pretty cool!
I am so impressed with the tones that Im getting so far. I am planning on using it with a Maxon SD9 for a Scott Henderson/Mike Landau sort of tone. I was going to get a Suhr Badger, but then I was offered this in trade. I do have a couple of questions, and I was hoping that someone might be able answer them.

1-Is there a manual available for download? I can just play with it, but manuals are helpful to me.

2-Any thoughts on swapping the tube recto v solid state specific to this amp.

3-I have an open-back Judybox cabinet that has a 30w Bad Betty speaker in it. I also have a WGS ET65 that will probably end up in that cab. The other speakers that I have available are an Eminence Tonker and a Cannbis Rex. These are all 8 ohm 12 speakers. Any thoughts on these for the Winfield?

Thanks in advance for any responses. It is such a great sounding amp! If you get a chance to try one...do it!

Cool! I'm really glad you're loving it.

I recently came across Jackson Ampworks. I'm particularly intrigued by this one:

Maybe for my birthday? Hello, wifey? Smile
