do you guys have any favorite unknown guitarists? My personal fave has to be Monte Montgomery. He's kinda known as i've seen him in only a couple of guitar mags, but he has a regular gig out in Pflugerville TX at a small place called Hanovers. What an amazing guitarist!!! and for all of that to be done on an acoustic??? my god!!!

for those of you who havent heard him, try downloading some of his stuff. it'll blow your mind!!!

Monte Montgomery is so good, it's just ridiculous. I had a live CD of his, I don't know if I still have it, but it's unreal.

Matt Schofield in England is very good - sort of SRV with a bit of Jazz!

Plays in Organ/Gtr/Drums trio.

Eric Sardinas

Guy plays an electrified steel resonator. Great slide player. Kind of like Johnny Winter, except that he plays a little harder rocking music.

A couple lesser known Texas session players are David Grissom, formerly of the band Storyville, and Mitch Watkins.

Ronnie Earl & Duke Robillard are a couple cool white blues guitar players who've been around a long time but never got recognition like SRV.
