Sorry Mr. B,
I was joking (I'm British).
I actually use a Vibroverb (But the 63 - I prefer two speakers).
Interestingly though I use a Boss (Digital!) GT6 pedal, set on a SRV tone which I got from the Texas Flood cd.
This enables me to get SRV's sound without the ear splitting volume ("You're not playing at that volume, are you?")
I also change that tone to get more SRV variables; his tone changed a bit over the years; I think its a bit muddy on 'Live Alive', but ultra clean on AC Reeds CD. When most people talk of SRV tone they mean 'Texas Flood' and not 'Life By The Drop'!
The GT6 does me a good Leslie too. |

Ha!! Nicely played. I'm a bit dense. (I'm American) Yeah I do play at that volume cuz my amp doesn't sound it's best any other way. It may piss some people off but god damn it does it sound good.
Cheers! |

I just play my PRS Custom 24 through my Ibanez Tube Screamer 808, and Original CryBaby, into a fender blues jr. It gets the job done and I'm able to get my own sound that I like, with a little SRV essence. I like to keep it stripped down and as raw as possible, though I'm thinking of getting a Dunlop Rotovibe. _________________

Ive been fooling around alot lately with the Boss BD-2 pedal, and I find i can get a good blues tone out of it, not so much an SRV tone but more of a cream era clapton sound.
Anyone else use it?
Hawk
PS Got my new amp. They don't lie when they say that 100 watt Fenders are loud!!

LOVE IT!
It is very loud, I have it set on 2 and i have my pedal knock the volume down even more, and its at a good none blowing of ears volume.
Its a solid state Fender, and the guys with their Super Reverbs and the like will say that it wont sound very good. But personally i think it sounds great. The two 12's give it a nice clear sound. Its basically a Fender twin, just no tubes.
Combining it with the ME-50 you see there i can get some really good tones out of it. The only problem is that the amps distortion channels really suck (it has 3 channels - clean, drive, more drive), but thats what the pedal is for.
Anyways as you can tell i am pretty darn happy with it, and for $400 Canadian, it was a great price. The only other one i could have bought was the Blues Junior, but I was trying to avoid tubes at lease for now, and my buddies have 100 watt randalls and marshalls and i have to keep up with them somehow

Thanks fellows
Ive heard lots of good things about tubes and such but i went ss for a couple of reasons one of which being that i will be needing a new guitar soon and i didnt want to have to wait another 2 years to get a new one if i spent all my money on an amp right now. When i get a tube amp ill get something good, like a Fender twin or something big, but that will wait a while methinks....
