On July 25, 1989 at the Mud Island Ampitheatre in Memphis Tennessee the Stray Cats opened for Stevie and Double Trouble, during the show Stevie invited Brian Setzer up on stage and handed him #1. They did "The House is Rockin".
If anyone has a recording of the show from that day I would love to have a copy of it. |

I just read that on Setzer's site a couple of days ago. How cool!
Brian said he sounded just like him when he plugged into SRV's gear with #1. It's all in the hands baby |

I have a bootleg of Stevie jamming with Buddy Guy at Legends on BG's birthday, and Stevie is playing one of Buddy's guitars (set up with .009s!) and Stevie is playing a lot faster than you'd normally hear him play. It's pretty amuzing.
Thank's for the posts y'all. I hadn't heard that story. _________________ The stars at night are big and bright.... |
