Scott,

Have you tried the revised version of Suhr Badger?

I heard Mike did his whole album with Badger 18 with a 412 cab,
and I'm thinking about getting one (after too many failed attempts with modelers; Just for the clarity, I'm not diss'ing them. I just want a simpler solution)

Anyhow, all of these guitar gear world is full of "newer is worse" "vintage is the best" sort of mindset

So I'm just wondering if you tried the newer lineup of badger and would love to hear honest opinion

Thanks!
Vincent

Sorry, I haven't kept up with the changes in the Badger. I have the 30 watt version and I don't use it much, not because it isn't a good amp, but I play with more gain than Mike and class A amps aren't as good for that style as Fenders or Marshalls. Great for blues though, and I'm sure the newest version of the Badger is awesome because they're always improving their stuff - I'd kinda like to hear it myself.

Thanks Scott!

I just pulled the trigger for Badger 35 and the matching cabinet

I can't really A/B them, but now I finally forget about gear and just playing it lol

That's a good decision - 18 watts is fine for recording but you'd have to play with a very soft band to use it live. The 35 can also get great recording tones at a low volume but when you crank it it's loud enough for real gigs. It's great with a 4x12!
