Hello all-and thanks for a most informative forum, the input/info received here is most helpful as I try to piece together the final specs of my order. I'm down to the last but very important decision-neck size. Through a local dealer I have tried several necks (except the D profile) and like the even C slim (apparently John's favourite) and the C 60 vintage standard as well. I understand that the D should be somewhat similar to the even C (810-880) but with more shoulder and flatter back. I don't mind a flatter neck provided I can still feel some mass in my hand- does it feel real "thin," as I don't like the older REALLY thin neck guitars that were made for solely shredding, I find them somewhat uncomfortable. I play blues/rock/jazz and as well as rhythm do a lot of lead work so the neck must feel comfortable to bend strings and play in the higher register as well. I know that Scott Henderson plays the D neck 16" radius and apparently finds it very comfortable but also realize this is very subjective, but I do play a similar style (only not as well!) Any help would be very appreciated and thanks for your patience-I'm almost there!

Well, I have several guitars right now everything from a Vigier Shawn Lane model, Les Paul Custom, cheap Yamaha Pacifica, Suhr Classic and of course they all feel different but to me, the thing that is more important is fret size and a good fret job. I like bigger frets and even SS frets too...

My Suhr guitar is a medium C I believe and I too have wondered what the D shape would feel like, my guess is that I would like it but it would be best to try one out if you can. I would be interested to know if the Suhr folks could shape a neck after they've sent it out. So, for instance if you got a D shape and decided you wanted it more like a C could you just send it to them and have them re-shape it? My guess is you could.....

Good luck, LOVE LOVE LOVE my Suhr!!!

Chris
