Hello Scott!
I would like to get your opinion on the 6 point tremolo vs. the modern style 2 point. Did you switch to the vintage style tremolo purely based on tone or for some other reason? I've heard that the modern style wears down the knife edges quicker and the vintage one last forever.

I'm a pretty heavy user of the tremolo and i'm putting together a new strat from parts and got a fender american deluxe body to start with. This has the 2 point tremolo from the factory and I was thinking about plugging the holes and convert it.

This subject has been covered (in great detail) in earlier posts. Go to INDEX under GUITARS and look for Fender Vintage bridge. There are comparisons to the two-post bridge and many tips on keeping the Vintage bridge in tune.
