Hi Scott!
When you go on tour with your trio, how do you travel with your pedalboard, guitar and luggage? Do you have a separate case for the pedalboard as a carry-on or do you check it on each flight? Do you travel with a gig bag or hard shell case for the guitar?
I am curious about how you manage this aspect of touring. Having this aspect down to a science seems to be one of the most important factors for players that travel. I would love to know how you do it.
Thanks!
I bought a Samsonite hard shell suitcase, then went to A&S cases and had them cut four pieces of foam which fit perfectly into the suitcase. There are two 1" thick pieces of hard foam, and two 2" thick pieces of soft foam. I traced around all my gear onto the soft foam and cut out the pieces of foam with an electric carving knife, then glued the soft foam to the hard foam, so the suitcase carries two layers of gear. I have everything in there - pedalboard, wah, cables, SE-70, strings, etc. That's why my pedalboard was built in an L shape - so it would fit into a suitcase.
