Hey Scott

I just had a new transformer installed in my fender bandmaster style amp
so I have 16ohm and 8ohm taps.
I like the 8ohm out into a 16ohm 2x12 cab best. It makes it spongier. This might not sound good with a Marshall.
Have you ever experimented with mismatching ohms?

I've done it only when I didn't have a choice - I used my Bandmaster which had an 8 ohm tap into a 16 ohm 2x12. It sounded fine I guess, but at that time I didn't have an 8 ohm 2x12 to compare it with - I bet it would've sounded better.

John says mismatching ohms isn't good for the amp, so I try not to do it.
