Hello Scott

I'm always blown away by Joey Heredia's playing on the 'Tribal Tech' album and on the couple of live YouTube clips I've seen, especially 'Self Defense'. I would just love to get your take on his playing and also I wondered why he wasn't involved with the band after that album. He's obviously a very different player to Kirk but I wondered if he was ever in contention for the long-term 1990s gig.

Joey's a great drummer and I've played a lot of gigs with him outside of Tribal Tech. The choice of drummers was always more Willis's territory than mine - I pretty much stayed out of the way. He'd been playing with Kirk for a long time when they were both living in Texas, so when Kirk moved to LA I knew Willis would want to hire him.

A great player. First got turned on to him on the Carlos Rios video tape. He and a great keyboard player and bass player.......

Speaking of Kirk, did he move back to Texas or something?

Judging from his Facebook posts, it looks like he's working a lot in San Antonio.

Yes, Kirk moved back to Texas but he still has a place in LA. He's in LA every once in awhile, but I don't know who he's playing with now.
