Hi Scott!
What´s your opinion about the celestion classic lead 80 in a combo as a speaker replace option in a fender type amp?
Thanks!

That's a really dark speaker, not one of my favorites. I like the Heritage 65 much more - of the higher watt Celestion speakers, it sounds the most like a Greenback.

Many thanks Scott!
I´ve been testing a bunch of speakers: Creamback 12m 65w (little low end and too nasal), CL80 (dulll and sterile, without that vintage voicing I´m looking for, and good low end), Kendrick Blackframe 12 (great Jensen clean chime with good low end but awfull distortion and break up sound), V-type is a great vintage voicing, great low end, fendery chime with sweet treble, very good with distortion but not too raw like others celestions with hi gain...
Eminence The Wizard, good low end but too treble and ice pick
By the way, the best of all of them is the V type although is the cheaper celestion.
Unfortunately in my country nobody sells the heritage 12-65. Maybe that´s the option I´ve benn looking for years!

Thank you very much for your good predisposition.

Alejo.

Hey Alejo,
You might dig a WGS ET65 if you can find one.

I tried the Creamback and liked my 65 much more. It has more bass and sounds bigger overall - no nasal frequencies. The V-type is a good speaker and that would probably be my 2nd choice. It's voiced well but it's more scooped than a 65 - high notes are definitely not as fat. I'm sure you'd like the 65, and many American stores ship overseas.

Hi Scott,

i'm using the vintage century speakers, the one made of neodymium.
I like them and the plus is that they only weight 3.7lb (the greenbacks are 7.9lb) but, considering the FR curve they may be a little more nasal....do you know this speaker? What's your opinion?

P.s.: I love Guitarwank!! You guys are hilarious! Can you please share the "Hi Scott, if you don't call me back in 15 minutes i'm gonna cut my..." message by Allan? I need it for my ringtone Very Happy

Sorry, I've never tried that speaker and don't know anything about it. I would like to try one of the new light speakers - I heard they sound really good.

I can't let that message out to the public, for obvious reasons. 😊
