what's up?

I was just listening to this song today, by the way, awesome name for a song.

Anyway, there is a moment when you are soloing and I could tell that the guitar is panned to the right and I could hear a delayed guitar in the left (providing my headphones where in the right ears). Is this the delay tip you mentioned in GuitarWank that SRV did? Also it seems to not be just a delay but it actually has a lot more reverb and chorus than the actual guitar so I'm assuming that maybe by that time you were already doing the Dry/Wet amp thing right?

I'm just curious about it.

Thanks!

The wet/dry thing is just for live playing. In the studio the amp is always dry and FX are added using plug-ins or external hardware.

The solo on Mech X, besides being way too loud, is panned to the right and a 200ms delay is on the left. There's no chorus on it but there's a bit of reverb. It's similar to what SRV did - dry on one side and delayed on the other, but he used somewhere around 20ms, which is a completely different effect than 200. 20 doesn't sound like a delay at all, it just gives the guitar a stereo image.
