Scott, have you tried the HX effects with your amps? I think you may dig some of the stompbox models, especially the Octavia and Univibe. The delays and reverbs are very usable too.

I haven't tried it, but I'm sure it sounds better than my ancient SE-70. Unfortunately I have to travel light so all my stuff fits into a normal sized suitcase.

I’m pretty sure the HX effects is not much bigger than the SE70, if size is a concern. It fits in a backpack easily.

There's also the HX Stomp which is smaller than the SE-70 I think.

I'm using it at the moment just for the effects and I find it very handy. Can run effects in parallel and 100% wet etc. You're limited to a maximum of 6 blocks/effects but that's plenty for me. Might be worth checking out
