Here are some more quickies from this weekend.... All clips are Baker B1.

http://www.scottlernermusic.com/andy/Aminor50-1a.MP3 (SLX50, 1265-loop bright way)

http://www.scottlernermusic.com/andy/Aminor50-3.MP3 (SLX50, 1265-loop darker)

http://www.scottlernermusic.com/andy/reggaemix1.MP3 (SLX50, 1265-loop darker, B1 neck coil split on clean part)

http://www.scottlernermusic.com/andy/bfs1.MP3 (Fender 75 mod, set up very bassy which was a big mistake, lots of gain, 1265 speaker, post EQ to thin the mud out)

Hope you dig!

Hey Scott,

The dark loop 1265 sounds better to me...bright sounds a little bit strident, as does the Fender...all very good though. Enjoyed it!

Thanks Tim!

Here is another clip on the same backing. Please forgive the spot in the middle where I played in the wrong key! Shocked True... I spaced for a sec.

This is the Fender 75 Fuchs mod and 1265 speakers.

Hey Scott,

That's better than the 1st Fender clip...to me the highs are still a little much. Not bad, just a little on that side. Seems like the tone cuts, but it's because of the highs, not the overall presence of the tone. I bet, though, stick an RC Booster in front, and that combo would kill...seems like it would fill out the tone and push it through the mix without needing quite as many highs. Just my opinion though! Like I said though, it still sounds great. I need to get some good gigs and save up for a Fuchs someday. Anyway, could you do a clip like that (Fender 75 w/RC Boost)? I think it would rock.

I remixed the clip. Is this better? http://www.scottlernermusic.com/andy/75aminorblues2.MP3

I also am testing an Eminence Wizard speaker. Here are two quick sloppy takes using a Wizard in a 1X12 combo cab that I put the SLX30 into.

I used a lot less highs just for you. Also wetter....

Hey man, those Wizard clips are great. Tone seems to have more body, without being muffled. Like them a lot! The remix Fender clip is a lot better...I think I like the Wizard better though. Is that still the B1, or is it the RF?

I need to build a website or something, so I can start posting some clips too. I'm recording a few tunes with one of my groups tomorrow to go on a compilation CD of several groups from UNT. If they turn out good and I find a way to, I'll send a copy your way, or put it on the ftp or something.

I love the Fender 75 mod. I like it with both the 1265 and the EVM. Theres a raw quality to the OD tone moreso than the 30 or 50. From smooth to raw(less smooth or refined for these type amps) and everything else equal I'd say: 50-fixed, 30-cathode, then 75mod. It may be that I am just use to my Fuchs/Traynor with 1265s and therefore my preference for the 75.

The Wizards sound very nice as well. I would like to give them a try someday.

great clips Scott !

Really liked the wizard, i guess it's not broken in yet. In my opinion the 30w sounds better recorded than the 50w.
