As part of my neverending R&D work, I recorded some sample clips of some ideas I have been trying out. Which clip (s) appeal to you?? These clisp do not all use the same amp or speaker cab so it is not apples to apples.

Clip 1 http://www.scottlernermusic.com/andy/Fender75JazzODTone.MP3 (EVM12L)

Clip 2 http://www.scottlernermusic.com/andy/PostODStackTestNew.MP3 (EVM12L)

Clip 3 http://www.scottlernermusic.com/andy/PostODStackTest2.MP3 (can't remember if EVM or THD, I think EVM)

Clips 4 and 5 (same Celestion 1265/Burt cab, only changing one thing between takes) http://www.scottlernermusic.com/andy/Fuchs50seriescap0056.MP3

http://www.scottlernermusic.com/andy/Fuchs50seriescap01a.MP3

Clip 6 http://www.scottlernermusic.com/andy/PostODStackTest4.MP3 (THD cab)

All clips are close miced with 1 SM57. As an aside, I used my new Heatley semihollow on the Wolfetone bridge pup for all of these.

Thanks Krusty! The clips you liked were the 1265 speaker... Btw, I liked #1. I was going for a certain bass smooshiness......

Hey,we were on the phone earlier and I told you I dug clip #2 a lot - there's just something about it. From #4 & 5 I really liked 5 better, actually I liked it a lot. There was some wierd resonance happening on #4 and I dunno whether it's here on my pC or when you recorded it. Anyways, your new findings definitely sound cool, can't wait until next tweaking.

4&5 sweetest in my opinion - smooth and warm. I did however also like the tonality of 6, grittier and more fluffy by comparison.

Hey Scott,

I really like clips #1 and #4. I like #1's fat, slightly fuzzy but clear top end tone. #4 sounds more compressed but very sweet. It seems a little back in the mix compared to #1, possibly due to less efficiency than the EVM.

Thanks guys.

Dave, I recorded a new clip of the Fender 75 in clip one. It is in the Monday clip post. Some clips to start the week.
