I opened an account with a brokerage to trade U.S. equities as well as worked with multiple U.S. companies as a remote contractor. Before I did anything, I contacted the CRA directly to get a clear-cut view on all this:
If you reside in Canada, you pay taxes in Canada. You should fill out the one-page W8-BEN form and hand it to your U.S. employer so they don’t withhold any taxes and inform the IRS that you’ll be paying taxes in Canada.
I faced such a problem that I do not have enough for life. And I think it's a common problem these days. I decided to find out how you can save on taxes and came across Tax Relief Services, with the help of which I understood how it works. And now it has become much easier for me, because less money is spent on taxes, and more on me.
