Just curious if anyone likes Daniel Lanois. I really enjoy his work, and I think his lap steel work is beautiful. I've fantasized about a lap steel duet with him and Steve. Shine is a particularly delicate and gorgeous CD I have had difficulty prying out of my player of late.

I love Daniel Lanois. I've seen him live several times over the past few years, most notably at a medium sized club at the Montreal Jazz Festival. Both times there he was with a sparse 3 piece band - bass, drums and Lanois on electric and lap steel guitars. He gets beautiful rootsy tone from his humbucking Gibsons into what looked like a vintage Vox Ac30. He does use some pedals - I think I recall a tube screamer, Boss chorus, and a volume pedal. His phrasing is just beautiful - plays from the heart, not the head. It would be interesting to hear him and Kimock jam...

I'd love to get my hands on some live stuff. Any idea where?

really Cool. would I have the choice to share this post on my blog? I'd invite it. in like way, I would eagerly guarantee this game to everyone, that the people web getting mass right now because of the uniqueness of this game thinking about each and every individual who will attempt to contribute their time at any rate together they're considering they totally valued so am I this game! endeavor it as I said by contributing your time not to attempt to be a scholar of this game with the exception of in the event that you attempt!
