I saw this on the Gear Page, and thought I'd post it here. It's Don Mare, playing Roy Buchanan's '53 Tele through a BF Vibrolux. Pretty neat old stuff.

http://roybuchanan.org/music.html

Here's a little blurb about how he came upon it.

It's in a very-very high security facility - values is onwards to 600k today..

If you want you can hear me playing in in that same building - thru my Blackfaced Vibrolux at http://roybuchanan.org/music.html
I was there to fix it - the owner thought it went "out Of Phase" and needed fixed - but it was actually just like its always been --- seems Roy Never did have a bridge only setting -- cause somehow the neck slightly bleed into it - out of phase and thru the dark cap .1 that was also - oddly hooked up to the volume pots hot and the 3 way switch, that made it a bypass filter of sorts..

pretty killer info - folks - & U can take it to the bank.........

don

Interesting. Maybe explains at least a little of why his treble pickup always sounded so much better than everybody else's.

Don Maier. Hmm. You know there was a guitar player with name back in the day in the Lehigh Valley--I remember him because he studied with Pat Martino a little bit down in Philly. Wonder if it's the same guy?
