Is the second channel of the od100 se plus have the same voicing when boost is on and off

Or is the voicing different when the boost is on?

Also I usually always play the amp with the boost on and gain at 5. I wonder if I would get better results by not using boost and just bumping the gain to 7.

The gain on this amp can get pretty hairy and it loses its articulation a bit.

Suhr Amp Talk :: is anyone else not using the womp switch?

Subject: is anyone else not using the womp switch?
Topic Replies: 0

In my case its a od 100 se plus with the older womp. I findthat if I use it I have to over compensate by increasing treble and lowering the bass. Well i dont like increased treble and I ually like a flat treble response(guess I am more of a Marshall 1986 guy then a 1987 guy) Hence why I dont like bright switches

Well I find that not using the womp allows me to get a more balanced tone, and this is with gain at 5 and volume at 5 without using the effects loop as master volume. Its pretty loud but I like it that way.

When I dont use the womp I can dial my amp to be more clear and not to shrill by having the bass at 6, mids at 6, treble at 4 and presence at 5.

I find increased feedback makes the amp sound a bit more boxy so I keep the feedback around 3 or 4.

If I used the womp I would have to keep the bass around 2-3 but the tone doesnt sound as even to me.

So I think for now I wont be using the womp.

any thoughts?

I can't get the action on my Suhr as low as my Ibanez Prestige S. In fact just this week I had to adjust the relief on the Suhr for the first time since I got it a few years ago. Over time the fret buzz has been getting progressively worse. My Suhr is 10-14" compound and the the Ibanez S is about 16" radius. The fretwork on the Suhr is impeccable but the Ibanez is actually pretty exceptional as well and amazingly the setup is the same as when I bought it back at the end of 2004 - no a single adjustment!

Fans of Mark Knofler might recognise this one - it's an homage to Mark's Pensa-Suhr guitar.

Action on my JP6 is ridiculously low.

I didn't approach that low action on my S3,
but the action is on really low side anyway.
I think it can be set as low as in JP6 (or almost) if You need it.

That sounds sweet, Mart =) SS frets are the only thing I´m missing from my Suhr.

But I guess that would mean that the fret work as an effect.

I certainly find that the SS frets make bending, maybe not easier, but certainly smoother. The strings just glide over the SS frets.
