I added this great show to http://www.archive.org/audio/. It's probably not yet available (as of 10/2/04 early am) but should be soon. It's "...Queued for initial check and move to download server...". Not sure how long it usually takes after adding. But go there periodically and search for apartment projects.
Info for setlist.txt...
Apartment Projects
9.19.98 South Main Cafe, Blacksburg VA
DSBD > 2CDR
no setlist
Disc 1 - 7 tracks
Disc 2 - 7 tracks
Line-up:
Jimmy Herring:Guitar
Jeff Sipe:Drums
Brian Lopes:Sax
Neal Fountain:Bass |

I check the status and it's not available yet. It's waiting for the curator to approve it. Probably will happen during the week.
One thing I'm concerned about is whether the band tape trading policy I gave will be accepted. I copied ARU's policy and pasted it in that section with the additional explanation that Jimmy and Jeff Sipe were in ARU. However, leagally, they may reject the upload for this reason. I wonder if that's why the archive has no Jazz is Dead, Project Z, etc. |

Well it's not yet available. The moderator had me change something and then reimport the information. However, when I tried, I'm stopped by a bug in the import process. It keeps giving me the wrong screen at a certain point. I have sent email to the staff and waiting on response.
Sorry |

Now they're holding it up because they can't get permission to post Apartment Project shows. They contacted DeepSouth Entertainment, but they don't handle them anymore. I had them contact TerminusRecords.com which handles Project Z and Col Bruce. But not sure if that will be fruitful. Anyone have any suggestions for getting permission to post Jimmy's shows? Or an alternative ftp site that will host this stuff for a good while. |

AJK, I will take you up on your offer although I still want to pursue getting approval for archive.org.
Send me email (svessels@insightbb.com) with your ftp site information. I have several shows of Project Z, Jazz is Dead as well as Apartment Projects. I'll put up as much as your allow.
How long can you host it for others? |

I'm not sure exactly, I just have to watch how much bandwidth I'm using, so as long as 50 people aren't d/l'ing it all at once it should be cool.
I'll send you an email soon. I have to check with the guy whose server I'm using to see how much you could upload at once. _________________ GNOSiS

Never heard from Jeff Sipe about permission to post to archive.org.
I may possibly post them as ARU with a note in the setlist info indicating Apartment Projects Session. After all, it is part of ARU (Jeff, Sipe, maybe Count) and in one show also Oteil. |
