What was that non-Fender strat Jimmy played or does he still play it. I think it had two humbuckers. If anyone has any information on this, I'm curious. Does he tap his humbuckers. On his Fender strats, are the pickups vintage single or does he use a stacked or humbucker-like single coil? |

Are you talking about the "blue" one? I've heard that Gene Baker built that for Jimmy when he was at Fender's Custom Shop.....it was built with spare parts to keep cost low (from what I understand).
FYI - not sure if you know this but Jimmy and Gene are buds from when they went to GIT together. |

Not the blue one. Never saw that. The one I've seen is two or three tone sunburst and is strat style, but the wood around the cut-outs are slightly pointier than a normal fender. Probably a cheap endorsement deal before he was a big shot, if you want to call him a big shot now. Most people still don't know who he is. |
