so far it's a lopsided lead for the Bigsby....fully 100% of voters thus far, prefer the wobbly bridge. It may be that vibrato lacking Johnnys are slated for obscurity.

I would think Chris A. would have one of the best answer as he owns one of each JA. I only have a bigsby, so naturally I would think it is best.

To me the Bigsby model is the more versatile of the two, but the stoptail gives a bit more of that Les Paul snap and bite.

Maybe this survey needs a third category: One of each please! Wink

Well I'm not certain if I'm more qualified to answer this question but I do own one of each. If I could only own one JA, it would be with a Bigsby. Let's face it, it's a huge part of the JA sound and look. I love my hard tail JA and I play it often but for that smooth, cool, wanna-be sounds, you can't beat that Bigsby.

My advice...GET ONE OF EACH! Smile

Stoptail is what I own, I dislike Bigsby trems. I also think that like the ES-335 dot neck, the rarer stoptail Johnny As will eventually be more collectible. ... my 2 cents.
